Broadway powerhouse Idina Menzel—the Tony Award-winning "Elphaba" from international blockbuster Wicked—joins forces with award-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch for a one-night-only special engagement with the National Symphony Orchestra. Repertoire will include songs from Rent, Wicked, and Idina Menzel’s new album I Stand.

With a diverse repertoire of classic pop, musical theater favorites (including hits from Wicked and Rent) as well as songs from her album, I Stand, Menzel demonstrates why she is one of the great vocal performers of our time. Catch her this spring on the popular FOX television show Glee!

• Tony Award-winner Idina Menzel first turned heads as the outspoken Maureen in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent, before becoming “the green girl” of Wicked. She also remixed the song “Defying Gravity” from her Tony Award-winning performance, which became a Billboard Top 5 Dance Chart hit.
• Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch has dedicated his life to music, penning more than 40 motion picture scores.
• Hamlisch has won virtually every major award that exists: 3 Oscars, 4 Grammys, 4 Emmys, a Tony, and 3 Golden Globes. His groundbreaking show, A Chorus Line, received the Pulitzer Prize. His recent original score for The Informant! received a Golden Globe nomination this past winter.
