Classes |
Discover the connection between classical and contemporary music, dive into the history of music and its impact on world events, and explore the music of many cultures in this five week multimedia course.
What is the connection between Mozart and modern music? How did the rise of German nationalism change the history of music? How is western music linked to the music of other cultures?
In this 5-week course, Wolf Trap instructor and music lover Dawn Frederick will provide you with the tools for tuning your ears to the sounds and styles of music. A multimedia approach will guide your exploration of music theory and history as you listen to contrasting musical styles and sounds. Participants will be encouraged to attend performances at venues throughout the DC area, including The Barns, to put into practice what you’ve learned in class.
